Going through the How-To Thread "72 Horn refurbishment/wiring question" and have what I hope is a straight forward question. The thread says:
Quote:
A rattle can of rust preventative paint is fine for diaphragm. Use several coats on the outer face.

I just want to be sure before I do this. Paint on the diaphragm? Will that dampen the vibration? I am up to that point in my refurbishment so I wanted to pause and double check...

Thanks,
Matt

I have my doubts that one could hear the difference in a layer of paint.

I'm inclined to agree. In fact the author of the refurb thread said a couple coats. I put some outdoor spray paint on them. We'll see when I finally get them installed...
Thanks,
Matt
