Hi guys,
sorry for what might be a dumb question, I haven't been able to find the answer on the forum (feel free to throw stones at me if the answer is obvious).
I'd like to change the input shaft seal on my split case gear box (1959 beetle), but it looks like the replacement part I ordered has a slightly smaller OD.
I've not seen any parts dealer selling any other seal than the one I've ordered ; yet some mention they are for beetles 1960-...
Now I'm worried I'll be removing the seal from the gear box and won't be able to fit the new one. Is there some sort of a "lip", and the actual OD is smaller than I believe?
Thanks for your help! _________________ ShamWerks.com |

The seal does have a lip on the outer suface, with the bore it fits into being smaller in diameter.
