Has anyone ever added the tube for choke cable that was used up to 1960 Bugs to 66 Chassis so that manual choke can be used with 30pic manual choke carb? If so let me know.

VW used 28PCI carburetor manual choke all the way through the 1965 model year in the 1200"A" and 1200"A" European Custom model.

You can do this job, however you will need the tube or make a tube that goes in the chassis backbone and it's fasteners, plus the cable which you can get at Wolfsburg West.

I once installed the choke cable for a Brosol 30 PIC in a 1963 with a 1600 singleport engine. Drilled a hole at the same place right next to the ashtray (as factory until 1960), drilled another smaller hole in the panel above the knees and a little hole into the rear bar section of the chassis on the battery side, same position as for the brake line on the left side. So, the choke cable had the same routing on the passengers side onto the chassis, like the brake line on the left side. At the firewall, the cable was hidden behind the carpet.
Had to add both holes on the fan housing and the engine cover plate above the transmission.
All in all, it worked well as it should. There is no need to add a tube to the chassis, as the choke cable has a bowden tube on its complete length.

Never understand, why VW added this automatic choke. Once started at the morning via manual choke, I did not need it at the following starts the whole day (in summer). The engines run so much better, and if I would not be such an original freak, I would install this manual choke at alle beetles I have.

I had also added a manual choke to a '65 years ago when it was running a 36HP motor, so I know it can be done. For later carbs I found a quarterly-adjusted automatic choke worked well.

As the factory did until the 1966 model year.
