Vin 10221144 and engine number 10266806. I'm looking for the reserve valve for this car but can't find the one for 1950. I want to know which is it and if any of these may fit.

This photo from the '50 manual shows it is most similar to the '52-'55 style with the hoop, but it may not be an exact fit (mounting or line connections).

You might try searching the early forums for "fuel tap" or similar phrases. |

You want a 8mm fuel tap, looks like Oct52-55 you posted but with a larger inlet/outlet. _________________ https://instagram.com/mr.ogpaint

Hello again. Are you looking to bring your car back to original, or simply to have a working fuel tap? Either way, on this website there are a number of people selling all sorts of items to choose from: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/search.php...ton=Search
Let's face it, in the early 50's, having to access the underside of the fuel tank, by usually having to remove one of the front wheels, in order to check your brake fluid level, or the fuel filter, wasn't what might be described as one of VW's finer designs. It often meant that things weren't checked.
The reality is that if you are not concerned too much about originality, and let's face it, who is going to see or know, as everything is out of sight, then the simplest, and usually cheapest method is to use the later 6mm outlet fuel tap, and connect that to the 8mm fuel line, by the the use of a Hengst in-line fuel filter.
Each end allows you to either connect a 6 or 8mm flexible fuel line, so you connect the 6mm one end, and the 8mm the other. The other benefit of course is that you still have a fuel filter, and a better one at that, being a micronic filter, rather than a coarse gauze one.

Yes rebuild kits are available, also Wolfsburg West is carrying the new BBT reproduction valves, both 6mm & 8mm , I’ve been impressed with the quality |
