1962 Camper, Miller Wood & Metal Products, built in Mount Olive, Alabama. This one is very interesting.

Bus is nice. Seat upholstery belongs in a modern minivan.

Pretty sure that is where I stand also. It was a few years ago, I think about an early 911 or possibly a 356. And it was not even that bad. But I guess it might have affected their bottom line. I see far worse stuff from others now.
I've not watched too many splitties on BAT. some pretty nice bay westies went for higher prices but one was stunningly nice.
What amazes me is how high the Vanagons go. Even air cooled Westies, which are notorious for engine failures as they get older. some bid up to $20k

Then again, the worst thing about old cars is siting on vinyl. I applaud this change. 😉

Wow... really nice Bay Westy but man that's a lot of coin. Someone fell in love.

That is true. But then why not just drive a modern car? An age old debate, I suppose.

Although the vinyl is noisy in the night, and sometimes sweaty I still prefer it since it looks right and is part of the time warp an old vehicle is about (easy to clean too Wink) . If you had to go cloth a period correct tweed, or even a plaid would be a better choice than the fuzzy velour with the overdone stitching IMO.

Keep a couple of towels handy for front-seat-anti-sticky, and a fitted sheet to cover the vinyl bed for sleepy time. Worked perfect for our camper for many many years.

Yes, a plaid without all the stitching would have looked much better.
That said, if you're actually going to camp in the bus, those covers look comfy.

Panel to OTW Camper conversion and shiny.
Sold $30,005 with no last minute bids.

For me...significant other says...no bidding.

I was tempted...

anyone who has an opinion on this bus can make me feel better

- or worse -

for missing it?

I think there were already comments on the minivan upholstery.

I don't have an opinion on the sale price but it's painful to see the before pics of a super dry og paint bus get a cheap respray like that. This is my opinion of course.

From the looks of that OG paint, it wasn't gonna be easy to save. Lots of blending and paint match work. The cheap respray will at least keep it safe and solid until such time as an expensive job is warranted.

Most of the buses I’ve seen on BAT have comparable level paint jobs. Even worse. And have sold for more.
