Here is a cheap and easy way to prevent debris from accumulating beneath the cargo area of your Westfalia top and causing drainage or rust problems. The plugs are a direct fit (no modification to your fiberglass) and are easy to remove. They can be sourced at most local hardware stores. All you need to do is drill a few holes to allow water to seep through.

the pic of the drawing of the plug from the top of the part drawer shows the plug top flat. Your altered plug looks rounded. I would think the flat would allow better drainage, and look cleaner.
