I have my new Super Beetle dash panel done and am wiring up the tach today, weather permitting. I am unsure about getting a wire from the engine bay to behind the dash. I'm wondering if its possible to use a wire from the diagnostic port. I could get from the dash to under the back seat using the defroster relay wire, so if I could get from the diagnostic port to under the backseat that would work, all the way to the dash would be better.
I tried to search and see what others before me have done, but I'm not finding anything. What have others done? Any help or suggestion's are appreciated.

I should be able to go from the defroster switch behind the dash, disconnect that wire under the back seat from the relay, then there is a blue/white wire that goes from the relay to diagnostic port 5. Just a quick disco/splice under the back seat and reroute port 5 to coil negative.
Should be all good. _________________ Repeat after me "I am smarter than metal!" |

X2, looks great. How did you wire the USB port volt reader? _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.樗

That's what I'm planning to do with my '75. Might as well use some of those extra wires VW left for us with the long defunct diagnostic system! |

No issue blowing the ignition fuse? Do you have an inline fuse as well in the USB adapter? _________________ Eventually, "we are what we pretend to be.樗
