I'm about to install my door panels on my 1966 Deluxe Transporter.

Does anyone have the location measurements for arm rest? Or do you just install them where they feel right?

Thank you
Jeff in Iowa

The 3 in the cargo area?
There are brackets on the body that you want to line them up with.
The door handles have brackets that go on the backside of the door panel that slide over and secure the interior panel to the door.

I don't have any measurements but there was another recent thread with some
reference photos here

I'm referring to the front doors. Driver and Passenger side.

You must have some pretty crazy seats to be able to use an arm rest on the front doors. There were none installed from the factory.

Yes, there was nothing on the front doors.

I've seen it a few times though, people installed either weird arm rests from other cars or sometimes original arm rests as seen in the cargo area.

Here's a '63 15-Window with a stock bus arm rest on the driver's door.
No door panel and they appear to have mounted it right through the door.
This would have required drilling non-factory holes.

I have seen them mounted only to the front door panel too, which isn't super sturdy.
