Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Knocked out the fuel line job today. Looks nice! Happy with metal fuel line now inside engine bay and all new Flennor rubber where it was needed.

amishman, very nice and tidy. Do you have heater boxes disconnected? I do not want to remove my engine to install my newer/used heater boxes as I don't see myself doing it singlehanded but maybe the flexible tube connectors would help me. I doubt I will ever drive her in the cold but I should swap mine out. Your engine bay looks great!

Thanks, LAGrunthaner.
Heater boxes still on. Just removed the muffler heater so I could more easily push the new fuel hose onto the metal fuel line. Plus it was loose. The bolt holding the strap on is rusted and froze and the whole unit as seen here I just pulled off. Pushed it towards the flex pipe and out.
So next I need to figure out is how to get the strap off and either new bolt and strap or can I clean this one and get the nut off. Maybe soaking in some evaprust for a bit and then some pb blaster can help.
We shall see. But I need to get it back on where it holds tight.

Thanks for that info amishman, I'm still learning about these little air-cooled engines as they are still so different to me. Was it difficult to remove that?
What is the advantage of just using this style (although I prefer the plastic type so I do not damage the aluminum).

Mine literally just pulled off. That strap was doing nothing and is rusted up. So I just pulled off. I need to explore it some more myself but think for me if I can get that strap off and cleaned up, I can re-use what I have for now.
