Hi guys I found this intake manifold in my parents attic and I was wondering if this is for a bug or maybe bus.it does have a vacuum nipple on drivers side rear.I’m building a 1600 single port for my 68 but using correct parts (correct carb, distributor, rebuilt fuel pump) minus case.

It might well have been used on a Bus too, but the part number (starting with a 1) indicates its first application was for a Bug. It looks like it is for 1500 and 1600 single port engines from around 1967-1970 based on those engine numbers you posted.
There are some single port 1500 intakes that are for 6 volt Bus applications. I'm pretty sure those start with a 2. The main difference is that the carburetor is mounted slightly to the [edited to add] right, so it won't clear the larger 12 volt generator easily. _________________

Build an aluminum spacer block and put longer studs on the carb base and it will. It only took a 1/4" spacer on mine. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. (The mass media age) |

I understand. I was just trying to ID the manifold from the OP.
I'm sure some here lack the tools to easily whip up a 1/4 inch spacer. With decent measuring tools and a good drill press with a 1/2 inch chuck I can do it in my garage. I could do it a lot quicker at work with the old Bridgeport that normally sits idle. _________________
