Hi guys I found this intake manifold in my parents attic and I was wondering if this is for a bug or maybe bus.it does have a vacuum nipple on drivers side rear.I’m building a 1600 single port for my 68 but using correct parts (correct carb, distributor, rebuilt fuel pump) minus case.

It might well have been used on a Bus too, but the part number (starting with a 1) indicates its first application was for a Bug. It looks like it is for 1500 and 1600 single port engines from around 1967-1970 based on those engine numbers you posted.

There are some single port 1500 intakes that are for 6 volt Bus applications. I'm pretty sure those start with a 2. The main difference is that the carburetor is mounted slightly to the [edited to add] right, so it won't clear the larger 12 volt generator easily.

Build an aluminum spacer block and put longer studs on the carb base and it will. It only took a 1/4" spacer on mine.

I understand. I was just trying to ID the manifold from the OP.

I'm sure some here lack the tools to easily whip up a 1/4 inch spacer. With decent measuring tools and a good drill press with a 1/2 inch chuck I can do it in my garage. I could do it a lot quicker at work with the old Bridgeport that normally sits idle.
