Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of returning my newly acquired Ghia to stock (starting a build thread soon). I was able to source the correct oil-bath air filter for a good price on Craigslist, but it is missing the bracket, which appears nowhere on Samba or the internet. The '65 air filter is located on the drivers side and is secured by a bracket that connects the cross tube to the fan shroud. Based on examining various photos in Samba's gallery, the bracket appears triangular in shape with three holes for bolts. I've also seen images of various modified bracket systems.

Anyone out there sitting on a pile of these brackets or can share a nice story for how to fashion a bracket? Or maybe a kind person could measure their bracket and draw a template? Thanks.

Here is an image that shows the bracket. The bracket slides behind the coil - two of the three bolts are visible.

Thank you! Looks perfect. Hmm - used for both the Ghia and the bus so not listed in the Ghia sections.

Curious - any other Ghia parts more commonly listed under other vehicles? I'm thinking trim pieces, etc and not power train, suspension or braking.

Tom,

I've found M&T Manufacturing has a lot of Ghia parts that are great reproductions of originals.

Funny, I found one of these brackets in my Ghia trunk, had no idea what it was. There are some correct air filter pictures in my thread here. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...p;start=20
