While cleaning the different bits and replacing fuel lines on the engine (since its out) I noticed two things on my injectors
1) they are two different colors. two white, two blue. The white ones did not have the metal ring where the fuel hose attaches to injector
2) one has a 'hole' in it (no, not the hole the fuel sprays from silly)
what most likely caused that 'hole'. Will the damage affect the spray performance? If so, any input on the injectors Bus Depot is selling as new and improved? [/img] _________________ formerly known as Brown_Bus

I think there's a comparison of colors here: https://ratwell.com/technical/Injectors.html
The bite out of the pintle cap shouldn't effect performance much, send them out for service and a flow test, they usually come back with new caps too. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Thanks!
Any recommendations for cleaning services?
Making a bunch of progress on the engine and engine bay clean up/painting.
Its been fun getting to know my engine etc. Funny how pulling your engine and taking bits of it apart gives ya a bit more confidence for future tasks. _________________ formerly known as Brown_Bus

Consult your local diesel shops, nearly every bigger town has a Bosch authorised repair shop that does that (usually same day), injectors come in many shapes and sizes, but the cleaning and testing is all the same. If not there's a few shops that offer a mail order service with fairly quick turnaround times. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
