Went and bought this really cool looking black billet pulley from CB..
And the stock shims don't fit..
It's got this big square boss inside.
Are you supposed to buy special shims,
Or file the holes bigger and square,
Or what?
Anybody know how you're supposed to keep a belt tight with one of these things? _________________ Bus Motor Build

Special shims
They are supposed to come with the pulley? At least when you look on the CB website that's what it shows and says. Did you buy it second hand or accidentally throw out the shims? _________________ 1967 Bug ( the daily rod )

CB's website says they currently include 8 shims, maybe they did not always.
Anyway, you can get them here:
https://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C26%2D903%2D112S%2D10
It appears that the same billet pulley is being sold by multiple companies and they all require special shims, possibly special pulley nut as well. _________________ 1957 Oval rag

Doh!
So it says they come with shims.
https://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/1914.htm
Wonder if i lost them or they didn't come or i didn't see them in the packaging and threw them away..
I woulda seen them in the packaging i bet, I'm pretty careful with stuff like that.
Always makes me feel like a dope reaching out to a company for something so small and stupid.
Thanks for the nudge in the right direction. _________________ Bus Motor Build
