Hello,

I'm in the process of installing a complete new wiring harness in my 1970 Transporter. I quickly realized that the fuse box was from a different model/year, and that I could not get a 1970 one. Apparently, these were terribly made and almost all of them fell apart. So, I modified the one I had to match a picture of the 1970 box one by rearranging/bridging the terminals as necessary.

Now, I can't seem to find a diagram of what size fuse should go in each of the 12 slots. Anyone have this info?

Thanks,
Larry

Fuse colors are shown on the wiring diagram, mostly white 8A with a couple red 16A ones.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Exclamation Note the box is depicted mirror image on that version, grey wires should be on the left when viewed as installed in the bus Exclamation

Thanks! So it only uses 8's and a couple of 16's? When I got the bus, there were a whole rainbow of fuses in it. There were blues, pinks, etc...

Yeah, some PO bought an assortment for watercooled cars and started adding bigger and bigger ones as the problems progressed, sounds like you are fixing it properly so white and a couple reds is all you need.

Just a note regarding color...empi package I have has a bunch of colors so you need to look at them carefully for what number they are
