I recently got this switch out of a notchback but I figure they are all the same so I figured id put it here. I noticed that the knob is different than the bug ones I have. this one is smooth and long where the others have notches. I was wondering if anyone had any info on if this is a type 3 specific or aftermarket knob? please let me know any info is greatly appreciated thank you!

It does look unique. Maybe you can have one of the moderators move this to the Type 3 section?

The switch has a 111 part number, indicating first usage on a Bug, but that is a non-Bug knob.

that switch is worth a fortune. Well, the red handle part is. For the switch to work it must be mounted in the dash so it gets a good ground. The S connection is a 'switched' ground. In other words when the handle is pulled out S becomes grounded. Push the handle back in the ground goes away. The K connection. When voltage is applied the light in the handle lights up. Independent of the handle being in or out. I used one for a fog light circuit. The fog lights will only work if the headlights are on and they will cut off whether or not the handle is push in or not.

My question I guess was more about the knob you see how this one is smooth all the way and the others are not. I don’t know if this was something that only came on something specific or what.
