Another question for the Thing crowd:

There are 3 holes (roughly 1/2" diameter) on each side of the sheet metal of the engine compartment floor. I think 2 of them are there to allow for lubrication of the bumper bolts, and the third one sits on a lower section so I'm wondering if it is for drainage?

Anyway - should there be any plugs or rubber drain valves installed in these holes?

Thanks as always for the input.

Doug

Could some of them possible be 12x1mm Rubber Plugs (N020025)? There are a total of 7 of these on the car, several in the engine compartment. Hope this helps.

Not really sure why the bumper bolts would require lubrication since these shouldn't be moving parts.

On my '74 one of these holes on each side is used as an exit point for the drain hose coming out of the rear side vents.
