So I did it.... I took a few hours, poured over Samba for all 1974 related VINs and created a simple Google Sheet of all the info I could find.

Do you have any more info on the VINs you posted on Samba years ago?

I'm also wondering why the VINs go from 01xxxx to 08xxxx to 20xxxx. I thought it might be that the 01xxxx were for the European market but i see two cars are in the US so maybe not. Any theories?

I've advertised this list on Samba and to 7 KG Facebook groups. Is there anywhere else I should post?

So I'm 15 months into this project and thought I'd give an update....

310 cars now.
310 cars is about 4.3% of the cars made that year.
The registry has 2.9% of the coupes and 6.4% of the convertibles.

Coupe = 53%
Convertibles = 32%
Unknown = 15% (cars that I have the VIN but no info)

Colour distribution:

Green 43
Orange 37
Yellow 32
White 13
Silver 7
Black 5
Gray 4
Beige 4
