I have both of these. The Okrasa is just being buttoned up and is still on the stand, but the Big Bore 40hp is installed in my '59 bug and has about 5600 miles on it since the rebuild. I'm afraid I'm going to break the crank in the big bore 40hp as I have a habit of taking off fairly hard from stop signs lol.

For those who have driven/owned both, which is more powerful and which do you like to power your vee-dub with? With my specs (below) which one of my engines will be smoother/more powerful?

My specs are as follows:

Okrasa 36hp:

- WW 77mm P&C kit
- stock 64mm crank w/ new main bearings
- WW .345" lift cam
- Stock, but brand new lifter/pushrods
- AA H-beam rods w/ new rod bearings
- WW dual port Okrasa repro heads
- WW 32pbic dual carb kit with bolt-on linkage
- stock 1:1 rockers on new Hoffman Speedster rocker shafts
- stock exhaust with new 36hp dual tip stock muffler (heat risers blocked off)

Big Bore 40hp:

- 83mm AA P&C kit
- stock rebuilt 1965 square-boss heads
- brand new stock cam and lifters
- stock used pushrods
- CB solid shaft 1.1:1 (1600 style) rockers
- 30pict-1 carb with 127 main and 55 pilot jets
- 1 3/8 (stock size tubing) header/extractor feeding dual quiet pack mufflers with blocked off heat risers

36hp is correct for a 59, looks cooler too.
