Hi,

I have just bought my first Bay, a 69 Westfalia built in Nov 68. Im not as familiar with them as Beetles or Split Bus'.

From what I have read I think my speedo is 68 only, my fuel gauge is 69-71 and my cluster is 73-75.

Is that right? Could my speedo be correct as it was built in Nov 68?

From memory it looks like our 69 Bus. Maybe some other folks wth sharper eyes will notice irregularities.

Based on this

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=583799

Your cluster looks like 76-79

surround is wrong

speedo is right. up in the air on the warning lights. 68 and 69 had some pretty cool warning configurations.... from non-marked lenses to different symbols. but, it was very early in the run to have these.

This makes me think that we should start a thread on changes to the instruments and instrument panel through the years, like Tcash has done with seats and other stuff.

D'oh! Yeah, just like that one!

I am losing my mind in my advanced age. I even had that thread bookmarked. Razz
