Hey all. I've seen several different models of Hella mirrors / searchlights. Who knows more about that? I have this one ... was it used on the Split bus, Porsche 356 or another car? The main differences are in the arm, this one have 2 screws for fixing to the car, others were applied to the door hinge.

To me it looks like the kind you find a stout part of your door or fender, drill two holes (plus wire hole), access behind the holes and mount the inner stiffener nutplate. So on a bus you'd decide where yourself. Make sure you can reach it comfortably, it doesn't stress the door from closing the door and the wiring is dooable.
If you don't put some kind of power kill inside a punkass could turn it on. |

There is a Type II specific searchlight mirror with a hinge pin mirror arm.

Exactly! So can we conclude that Hella produced both options at the same time? |

There were many options for mounting that were vehicle specific and non specific. They were an accessory that was used on cars, truck and motorcycles. The base housing could have many different mounts installed to fit almost anything. |
