My food truck adventure is over, and I’m putting the original Westfalia stovetop back in. I found this vent plate that I assume goes behind the counter somehow, but I can’t figure it out. Can someone please post a picture of it installed on their Westfalia?

it fills the gap between your stove cover and that driver's side inner body panel. So you aren't just looking down at cords and gas lines.

It’s not super easy to photograph. Hopefully this helps.

The centre hole on that strip is pop-rivetted to the stovetop. From that you'll be able to see how it fits in. Wink

Yes, behind the stove/fridge cabinet at the top.

Did you put wallpaper over the metal frame below the window?

If so, can I see photos of how you did the whole interior? How well does the adhesive hold up to the heat?

That’s just the factory installed fabric/vinyl.

Is that specific to the year, or did they all come that way. Mine (1982) has exposed painted steel there and everywhere else between panels. I wonder if I could add it to mine to cover a few ugly areas

Maybe it’s a thing on GL vans. It’s the same material as the headliner. On my van the areas surrounding the windows are covered except on the doors and hatch.

Wow, nice. I wonder if it would be a practical aftermarket mod

Spendy, but I see BusOk in the Netherlands has successfully duplicated it.
