Hello. I have a 1970 Transporter. The windshield wiper motor seems to move really slowly, regardless of what position the switch is in. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Larry

It's probably a combination of sticky pivots and crusty grease within the gearbox. Pull it and go through it - there are a couple of really good write-ups here on it.

Yep, 51 year old grease isn't all that slippy anymore, time well spent to go all in and do the job right, you'll be dead by the time it slows down again: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=445921&highlight=wiper+refresh

I have had real good luck just removing the wiper arms and lubricating the wiper shafts with motor oil while the wiper motor is running. Seems to be about a 10 year fix for where I live.
