I went to take my bus out the other evening and noticed that when I pulled on the headlight switch, I had parking bulbs, then nothing. I hit the floor switch and the brights came on like they should. I thought it was weird that there were no dim lights, however. I rolled my fuses, still nothing. Checked my wiring, everything looked good. I'm sure it has something to do with a bad ground, but have any of you ever experienced this before?

Thanks

Swap your dimmer pedal wires from low to high- to see if it can be ruled out. Meanwhile, you can drive without blinding others.

I've had a similar in my 67 Sundial recently. When I pull the switch I get running lights, dash lights everything but the low beam headlights. If I switch on the high beams (67 has the switch on the turn signal stalk) they come on and then when I turn them down to low beams then the lows are on. It has just started to do this and doesn't seem to happen every time. Just every once in a while.

I'll be following along here and see what others might suggest. I'm sure its some sort of wiring gremlin and I know those can be difficult to diagnosis just from a description of symptoms.

I used to have to have a cheater wire attached to the back of my speedometer to ground to get everything to work right. I had taken it off when I had my parcel ready painted, maybe I just need to hook that back up. Not sure why I need the extra ground though

I recently had a similar issue on a Bug. Someone had swapped the wires in the connector to the bulbs. Ground was on the high beams and the lead that should go to the high beam went to the common connector which should be ground.
