I searched and didn't find an existing thread. I thought having collected noises in one area might be helpful for people trying to stop various acoustic assailants.

I'll kick it off with a slight squeaking noise. It goes ee ee eee ee, very faint, I could believe it's a front wheel bearing but doesn't change sound when turning left or right but it does go away when I push in the clutch.

Moving? In gear or neutral? With a syncro, you'll have a harder time isolating the noise. Pushing in the clutch pedal in does a couple things. One, it pushes the crankshaft against the shim pack and thrust washer. It also loads the clutch release bearing. In addition, the input shaft is disconnected from the engine.

At speed, say 40mph, and in gear when I push the clutch in the noise goes away. Gear doesn't seem to matter.

Try shifting to neutral and letting the clutch out. Same result? Do you have a decoupler? VC or stub? You may want to drop the driveshaft and see if the noise goes away.

No decoupler, have VC. I will try neutral and removing the driveshaft and seeing if it changes/goes away. Thanks.
