I have a 70 coupe that was originally Albert Blue. I want to buy the original color carpet but I can't tell if it was black and has faded a lot or if it was salt & pepper or maybe even gray. I searched the following topics but did not find a definitive answer:

I'm hoping someone out there knows the answer.

Well in an answer to the first link you posted Phil (mcdonaldneal) posted this picture of a piece of his original carpet, tucked away out of the sunlight. The best description of it in these parts (UK) I would describe as "Royal Blue"

I'm not sure if it helps to add another option to Black, Gray or Salt & pepper.

I’m reusing the original carpets in my Albert Blue Ghia convertible and it’s confusing because the hidden pieces are clearly salt and pepper and the more exposed and weathered ones are almost black. I think when they get wet they tend to darken, maybe the dye comes out more?
Anyway, I would say salt and pepper is the more accurate choice.

Thanks! I'm going to go with the Salt & Pepper!
