swing axle bearing housings

How does one tell if you have the long axle housing or the short one. I know there is info on here somewhere but I have not been able to find it. It has to do with the length of the arm that the shock mounts to , 3 3/4" or 5 1/4" or something like that. Can anyone shed some light on this?
