Iphone connected to 99 EV stock Stereo?

Im researching how to connect my iphone to the CD changer controls on my 1999 eurovan with a OEM Gamma 4 cassette player.

The Sony headhunt I put in is single din slot with double din face and has CarPlay. Works great. Are you set on keeping the stock headunit for any reason?

You can use a FM adaptor, works ok and typically has USB power.
Those old cassette adaptors are great. Gives good sound.
If you are trying to use the CD controllers on the stereo's face plate to advance tracks, I think you might be out of luck. That is some old tech you are trying to adapt.

The stock EV stereo was the worst sounding unit I have ever heard in my life save for a few cars from the 70s.

This is an easy plug/play upgrade that has served us well. Maintains the stock indigo lighting too.

Just a thought. (no idea who the seller is or if that's a good price)

Almost any single DIN aftermarket stereo will fit in a EV. You can get a modern head unit with blue tooth and phone connectivity for under $100. You can get something fancier/better for under $200. I'd go this route rather than trying to adapt some old VW stock system.
