I want to restore the dash grille screens on my '66 Bug to their original finish since mine where painted red when the car got resprayed by previous owner.

I've seen photos of "virgin" screens, and they look almost like a flocked light beige.

What paint have you used to restore the screens?

A flat paint sprayed from a distance is an easy way to get a flat gloss, "fuzzy" look, with practice.
