Hi folks,

Working on our '68 Beetle last night we noticed that the driver's side of the rear door sill has a plug while the passenger side's plug is missing. Possibly for access to the heater channel?

I haven't had much luck searching for them - probably because I don't know the name. Could someone please enlighten me?

TIA!

My ‘68 does not have these plugs on either side. It’s original but a RHD but that shouldn’t matter.

It could have been added by a PO to help pulling a new wire through the channel?

That looks like something Ziebart, or another rust preventative service would do, VW didn't put them there.

Maybe something close here? https://www.mcmaster.com/hole-plugs/
