E brake cables were frayed, so I decided to replace. When I put the torque meister on the nut to pull the drum, it was only hand tight. There was a cotter pin in there though. Puilled drums, and I found the axles were wet, so the seals are bad. OK, order seal kit. Then when I pulled the backing plate & brakes off I realize I am missing parts. So much maintenance malpractice on this car, it doesn't surprise me any more.
OK, previous owner vent done. While I have it torn down to this point, should I replace the bearings? Looks like I need to make my own tools to pull them.

Those bearings are pretty indestructible because they're quite heavy duty for the application.

I wouldn't replace them unless they were bad, those old German bearings were very good quality and you'd be unlikely to get something as good new on the market today.

OK, I will leave them alone. I did order new brake lines, previous owner didn't have the right length of lines so they put these cute pig tail coils in there. Might as well fix it right while I am in there.
