I'm located in Southern WI, I've put about 2000 miles on it since I purchase it and it drives great, currently getting 30mpg with mixed driving.
It's a 87 Syncro Transporter has 65k miles on it. Has the dj2.1 (non catalytic) in it. Has f/r lockers and they work. Heat works great does not have power steering or ac options, super basic truck.
Everything works as it should, has a rough idle at start up due to a stuck IAC. I ordered one and it will be here this week, still runs and drives fine once it's warmed up. But I've still ordered a bunch of new parts for a solid tune up along with some suspension and steering components. I've done have basic maintenance like oil change and swapped most of the fluids, along with cleaning up some of the engine bay and interior. I'll upload some fresh pics tomorrow and update this thread as the build moves forward.

Nice truck. I just returned from visiting SW Wisconsin (Dodgeville, Spring Green area). It's a beautiful place, except for the winter salt. _________________ - Jim

That looks great for a $2300, how the hell did it survive the winters? |

It seems like it's been a while since insyncro stopped by. Maybe the Doka is full of duplicate parts that aren't for sale. _________________ - Jim

Troll. The IP address probably comes back to a 12 year old in Philly. I'm on a number of forums and all of them are getting more of this due to Covid as people get bored and are looking for something to do. If the OP is NOT a troll, please post pics of your local newspaper's current edition with the car in the background, and you'll get genuine congratulations for a great purchase. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

Welcome Wisco, I read your thread last month on Fbook. What an incredible score! Post some more pics when you can. (There's a tutorial around here somewhere for posting pics on the samba.)
I think you'll find that this group can be extremely knowledgeable and supportive as you dig into your Doka. I was hoping you'd post here so we could learn more about it. _________________ Joe T.
