Looking to post on here about anything that I am doing to hopefully show progress and get help/suggestions. Like a previous post, I am very new to most of this. The best background I have is electrical and currently working on getting that done.

Looks like you have a good, solid vehicle to start with. Have fun, take your time and do it right the first time.

My Rosie (also a '63) will be going in for her 25-year face lift in a week. Still fixing the things I didn't get quite right the first time around.

Having fun so far! Not much experience with a lot of it.

Nice I like it!

Be real. Know your limits and reality of whats involved TIME, MONEY, DEVOTION.
Dont start something unless you truley want to finish. To many projects start that are never finished...Dont be one of those, sell it if cant devote yourself to the completion of the truck. To many people want what you have.
IMO

I don't know what you weather is like. We tend to get a lot of rain. Safaries are known to leek.

The body looks fairly normal. Most of them have similar issues unless they spent their lives in really dry places.

Safaris or not, you will have to do the repairs first.

Definitely do the safaris.

How often do you think you'll drive it in the rain? When washing your rig, can always have a towel handy on the dash.

Man! You're going at it! Way to go, but pace yourself and don't "burn out". Your Bus looks better than the average Bus getting refreshed on here. Budget for all the metal it will take to fix that old girl once and for all and plug away at the rest. I've got a 59 DC ( https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=545000 ) that took many, many years to slowly do right and it is my pride and joy! DC's are awesome and so practical too!
