So I had to take apart my steering wheel column to replace my ignition switch because it burnt out and my headlights wouldn't turn on. The fix did work for my headlights, but I as I was putting the steering wheel back together I found an o-ring that I do not remember taking out. I found it was next to the steering wheel on my driver seat, and I was puzzled as to where it was supposed to go. I referred to the Bentley but could not find it in there. Does anyone recognize this O-ring? The steering is working, but it is bugging me that I somehow ended up with a piece that is not in its home.

Doesn’t look familiar. Did you have the washer under the nut that secures the wheel? Maybe someone had the idea to use the O ring to take up play in the upper steering bearing instead of replacing it or installing a repair sleeve. That’s my guess.
