I was replacing my CV boots not too long ago when I noticed that the outside joints were considerably "looser" and moved much more freely than the joints at the transmission. I re-lubed and re-assembled everything but now I'm second guessing myself (of course). Is this something I need to pay attention to or is it a normal thing that wont turn into an issue.. _________________ -Ob. vehicle info....

If the pitting of the races isn't excessive then being loose is unlikely to cause problems. When the pitting become excessive or when the cage become excessively worn the joints will be on their last legs. Pretty much if they aren't making noise they are okay to continue running. |

Turn in tight circles in a parking lot first left turns then right turns and listen for clicking, if you hear it time to replace. |
