I’m putting a stereo in a ‘77 Convertible and will connect red and yellow wires to fuses #11 and 8, respectively. Others have said these will work - correct?

Given the design of the fuse holders, how exactly should I connect these wires to the fuse holders?

Thanks!

Red is probably the main power, yellow is the wire that keeps your presets and stuff in memory. Crimp disconnect terminals on the ends of the wire, and plug them into the fuseholder. If you find that all the terminals on the fuseholder are taken, buy one or two of those spades with two males coming off a female, maybe called a piggyback. You will want to run the red to a switched terminal, so the constant draw doesn't kill your battery. Yellow needs to go to a terminal that stays powered all the time.

If I plug them onto the fuse holder, the fuse will not sit correctly in the hole, correct?

Best picture I could find quickly. Also made in insulated crimp on style and as a simple double spade adaptor. Have a look at your FLAPS...

Another option... check if your local Autozone has this type of piggyback terminal. No crimping needed.

I always keep a few in my toolbox. They often come in handy.
