Getting ready to DYI restore my 73 seats (im done sitting on springs)....which is the best option for comfort and good look (but comfort most)....
the foam pads out there or the ThingShop coconut fiber pads.

Coconut.
Use heavy canvas, or a scrap of very thin carpet between the metal spring frame and the coconut pad.
