|
|
At first I didn't think I had a model with power locks as everything worked manually no problem.
I was checking all my fuses and noticed one was out so I replaced it and suddenly heard a "thunk" in the driver door.
The fuse also immediately blew again.
Now my driver door is *reaaaaally* hard to unlock from the inside (and pretty much can't from outside).
Obviously the power lock initiated and is now stuck or something.
Is the fuse blowing because of a short somewhere or a bad power actuator?
Any ideas on how to find out which or if not both of these without fully taking the doors apart?
Thanks!

Classic case of a bad actuator for that door evidencing a difficult lock. Same thing happened to me on my sliding door. Installed replacement and lubed everything: good to go
Now your blown fuses is another thing .... |

you were right!
seized actuator.
having it replaced and then will see about if the fuse still blows or not. |

Great to hear you found the problem. Just make sure to lube everything well since you have it all apart. I used white lithium grease then a spray silicone to hard to reach areas.
It's amazing how easy everything works when it is lube again (after +25 years). |
