The '67 towel bars are for sale, they aren't perfect.
I'll post them at some point.

Now that I ran the old crappy gas through the car (of course it almost had a full tank when I bought it and it gets spectacular gas mileage,) I am running premium gas with Marvel Mystery Oil in it.
The car runs so much better! This is a very good running car.
An old Porsche mechanic here in San Clemente recommends MMO in all old air cooled cars.
I run it in all of my Porsches too. It seems to give a little boost. Oh yeah, I bought an old original German ten slat roof rack for the car too.

Thank you. We have parts arriving to do a couple small projects on the car. New sand beige fender channel beading and rebuilding/repainting the headlights.
Seals, lenses, paint, rubber. _________________ Lawrence

We're continuing to fiddle on my bug, we fixed the horn once and for all, fixed a wonky clutch pedal (Bowden tube was bent/end not connected right) and tightened up the muffler clamps to staunch a nagging exhaust leak.
We also did the new WW sand beige fender beading, which wasn't as straightforward as anticipated. Dealing with what was the factory original stuff was nasty, we had to remove really dirty dusty/crusty beading along with frozen bolts here & there.
Here are the results:

I found a really nice original steering wheel here on the Samba that arrived today from Germany. I'm really happy with it.
And, it was on the car in five minutes!

How much Marvel Mystery Oil do you suggest in a full (10 gallon) tank?
I have many quarts of N.O.S. Castrol "R" that ---when used as an upper cylinder lube---would give the exhaust a Heavenly aroma. |

Marvel Mystery Oil comes with slash marks on the side of the bottle.
Per ten gallon fill up, I use one "notch" worth.
I've been doing it for years. _________________ Lawrence

Fixing small things on these cars are little mini victories.
I just fixed the door plungers, now the dome light works perfectly.
It feels like an accomplishment, little by little. _________________ Lawrence

Here's something small you can do- apply some cleaner wax to the bottom corner of the door and the bottom of the A pillar to clean off those old shoe scuff marks.

I'm confused on whether you mean you are done upgrading/working on stuff or you are waiting for more replies?
If it's replies, I have been reading and enjoying the thread and car but I had nothing of value to post.
If you want kudos, I like all the work you have been doing - your car looks great! _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks for the perusing. _________________ Lawrence
