so, for a swing axle, in numbers I can understand, 217 ft-lbs is 294Nm
so if I have a 2m long extension, I apply 150N or 15kg (rounded) is that right? it doesn't seem much |

Your arithmetic is easy enough to check, and you're correct. It doesn't seem like much force, but I know none of my joints could take it. |

before I had a torque multiplier, I used to stand on the bar about 14 inches out, as I was around 200 lb, and gave a gentle bounce for 'good luck' |

Jeez, I'd need a floor jack to lift that wrench , but if you're 6'6" tall and have 33lb boots you're good to go on an axle nut! |
