Hey everyone:
I was curious what the pitfalls would be to install a Type 4 motor in a Thing/Safari.
Thanks!! |

Are you planning on hacking the shit out of the rear apron or shelling out big bucks for a 911 fan shroud conversion? _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

I've got a type 4 in my Thing and I love it. I used Jake Raby's DTM upright conversion. Fits great with no body modification. _________________ 73 Thing (Typ481)

Don't cut the car. I did my first T4 in a 181 in 1997 and have done a few hundred since. This one is mine, fits like a glove, and zero cutting of the vehicle is required.
Done right this is great. Done wrong, and you wasted a very good opportunity.
