My Van has two rounded side windows on the poptop that are the same design as the original front window, double zippers so the screens zip open. They were sewn in when I had the canvas repaired after the top was cut open by some kids who stole the change out of my pants pockets while I was kayaking in 1990.
What is truly distinctive about your Vanagon? |

Thread warning: no battery door posts.
It’s been a long time since I had a T3 but I had a cool 1983 diesel with both a5 speed and a diesel aux heater. I loved that car, drove it to 1999 in perfect shape _________________ .ssS! |

Recycled truck tire as an air dam.
A Westy Luggage Rack not bolted down to the roof.

Lots of things on mine, but the most recent is this that I just built, still need to build a drawer for the top cubby, but otherwise I really like it. My woodworking skills are not, so take that into account.

Van Diesel has two OEM factory installed tire carriers (I'm told it's the only known one left in the world but who knows?)

You have to be able to open them and hang a hammock between them!
Do you have stops on them so they do not bash in the side if the swing into it?
Like the extra fuel tank. _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Mine is one of the very few running air ride suspension and as far as I know I'm the only one to have fit GTI "Austin" wheels to mine.

It's probably easier to describe what my van still has in common with other vans out there, than its distinctive features. Nearly every mod is custom, rather than a bolt on off the shelf vendor product. I highly doubt there are many other Bluestars out there setup similar to mine...which is probably a good thing for them, since mine looks like shit right now. Seventeen years of sitting outside has taken a toll on the ol brick. _________________ Casey--

More than that now. I have a 2.2L stroker Type-4 with built Porsche 914 heads, hot cam, headers, nice exhaust, and all sorts of go-fast goodies... Pushing about 130HP.
Ok, its not FAST still, but its a lot peppier than it was stock. And it sounds awesome |
