One-of-a-kind exterior decals courtesy of second owners, and blue box plaid curtains.

Perhaps the black leather rear seats/bed--no musty smell.

My van is an ex-German fire department vehicle and this was part of their equipment. They gutted all the cool stuff out of it and I had to find all the stuff they stripped out. That phone is a conversation starter. People are always asking about it. Not sure how it worked since there doesn't seem to be a way to dial out. Might be some kind of two way radio. |

Hey Kam, where are you at in that photo? It looks familiar to me.
I'm not sure that there's anything distinctive about my van. Maybe the dashboard Hula Girls. Does anyone else have them? _________________ '91 Westfalia GL Automatic (GTA "Turbo" Rebuild w/Peloquin) and 2.3L GoWesty Engine |

My pop top is a little different after a bit of fiberglass work:

In fairness, there are a few others vans with this mod. But not many. _________________ '85 Syncro Westy |

The grill.
I built this badgless grill and I think it's the 1st thing I did on my doka.
I wanted it to look like a mk1 golf grill.
It's lasted since 2004.
Adjusters and the connectors are still intact and used as normal.
Nobody even notices it. I had to point it out at a VW meet.
The square frame with the round light really bugs me so it had to go.
There's a slight flaw in the Bondo/fiberglass there but I'm thinking it's about time for a repaint anyway so I'll fix that soon.
It's all fiberglass/Bondo around the lamp and ever bar splice is JB Kwik with a splint of steel pallet strap imbedded in it like rebar on the underside.
This was a lot of fun to build.
I'm really wanting halos these days. For DRL and turn signals. |

GoEverwhere I wanted to say your bag setup looks great. I like those wheels too, I'd own a set if they made mirrored pairs for both sides..
I've been on the fence over the lights you have. I'm sure they blaze really nice but can't decide of I love the spider eye multiple lamps or not. They are definitely growing on me. |

Thanks!! Yeah, I wish they mirrored them too. It does bug me JUST slightly that they're not.
I was totally sold on the lights the moment I took a drive at night, they're SOOO bright! I think they're a good mix of modern and classic. When they're lit you don't notice they're multi lens really, its only when they're off. |

True and some are smoked and harder to see what in there.
One thing at a time...I might go for it in a couple months though. Saving for subi 2.5 at the moment. |

That'll be a nicer upgrade than headlights for sure. |

Neat stuff, Rorke.
Also, I grew up in Northern MI with regular family vacations on Torch Lake and look forward to taking the van around Traverse City, Leelanu, all that, hopefully next year.
