Diesel tank under bus. Fill port just aft of other ports.
Discreetly runs through the nook behind the 110v outlets.
Feeds a diesel heater mounted underneath.
Moved propane forward to accommodate.
Also, there is a large storage box under floor on passenger side.

I'm behind the camera.
It's off Highway 24 in Colorado (Clear Creek).🍺 _________________ ~Kamz

The 150 watt solar panel attached to the roof with 3M VHB tape (300lb tensile strength). I will never drill holes in my roof. Not the most complimentary photo, but shows the panel

Hey, I have the same picture...
Oddly, I too have solar panels affixed to the roof with 3M VHB tape. _________________ Vanlife Geek

Bumper overriders, front and rear. They appear to be OE quality, and it's likely the original owner purchased them when he collected the new van in Hannover in 1983. _________________ Camp Westfalia

Do you mean something like this?
My alternator bracket studs sheared off. I was able to get a bolt in one and the other had to wait. It was squealing and dancing all around and needed to be kept in its place until the end of the day. As I use this truck everyday and getting into a back up vehicle is hard I need to nurse it thru the day sometimes. These are the type of fatigue issues that a vehicle with 421000 miles has.
It worked well, now in the hands of my Local Mechanic that has fixed this before. We'll see ow he does.

I’ve been whittling away at parts of this thing.
Rigid molle panels.
Jeep fold out steps.
Home built headlight protection bars.
Maybe carat bumpers, door side skirts, and carat spoiler fitted to oem Syncro? Dual Syncro wipers for twice the ineffective.
Overhead console.
Warbird panel lights on dash and overhead console.
Ctek dc-dc 120a charger, integrated MPPT controller, batt combiner/isolator, IOTA ac charger, aux fuse/relay panel, and 90amph AGM battery all under front seat.
Warbird side marker lights.
UK AAA heavy lift springs.
Panel van conversion.
I need a life! Buy my Syncro. Please. _________________ VW LT40 build. Like a Vanagon but 30% larger in every direction and 40% slower even in metric.

@Stacy....
If it's possible have your guy weld a nut onto the front (front of vehicle= front of bracket) of your alt bracket so it's it's easier to get on or off.
I mean the bolt it pivots on pulls out in from the front side and a pita. But if you weld a nut onto the front then the bolt can come out the back. If VW did it that was as a safety measure...ehh, it's still a pita and could be made 'safe' some other way. That's a mod I did to my wbx whole changing out the atlt. |

That's a great idea. Makes perfect sense. I had to read it a couple of times to get it in my head. I saw a guy that tired of the alt moving that made a bracket and moved it to the area where the AC pump would be. Very tidy idea with a lot of meat to keep it in place.

So I'm thinking a few of our uniqueness in our vehicles will be copied into other vehicles...good. That is what ideas are for! _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Thanks for the warning but I think I may have earned some VW fan boi credits with the TDI motor? Certainly some more with the purchase of an LT? And then the lunacy of keeping and rebuilding the VW d24tic motor? _________________ VW LT40 build. Like a Vanagon but 30% larger in every direction and 40% slower even in metric.

Yeah I had a hard time figuring out how to describe it. It's easier to picture it if you've been through alternator episodes.
Moving the bracket sounds good too but more work if you have a welder handy the nut welding is just a moment or two of added work.
I think dyslexia is an asset, about 2/3 the time I expect that's where these ideas come from. |
