The recently rebuilt fuel pump on my 36hp engine has started leaking at the diaphragm. Can a new one be installed without removing the pump from the engine? i don’t have any spare pump to block gaskets. Thanks. |

No, you need to remove it from the engine.
You can install a new gasket without removing the cross-pin on 36hp pumps though - I've seen people remove the pin and then try to re-peen the pin and damage the lower body.
You might be ok to re-use the gaskets though while you order new ones. _________________ How to Post Photos

You need to pre-load the diaphragm, which is best done on a bench, not in the car. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?
