|
Greetings to all who clicked on my thread and thank you for joining my retirement adventure. I have been into VWs for as long as I can remember. My first was a 1969 Beetle that I bought at the age of 15, earning the money by delivering papers. I have owned quite a few in between, but we will see where this takes me.
I am excited to start this new journey and get this on the road soonest, while taking care of her and having fun in the process. More to come but here are some pictures.
Just picked it up this week.

What a sweet looking bug. Congratulations for both the bug and the retirement.
I'm two years older than you and I am restoring my Dad's 1968 that I learned to drive on.
Yes it's taking a little while longer than I want.
However the thing about retirement that sucks is......

So true! Plan is to take my “time”, but hope to get her back on the road soonest.

After looking at decades of receipts, this car has come a long way. All the big items have been taken car off (body/pan, paint, wiring, trans, motor, suspension, - and it’s a matter of getting it back together.
I’m going to start with getting her running (need an external regulator for the Motorola alternator), install windows, and get her driving as I finish her. _________________ 67 Beetle |

Looks like an excellent basis for your work completion. Hope you can get it running and driving soon. What are the specs of the engine per your paperwork? |

Good looking car! Those Fuchs wheels really make the car. Congrats on your retirement! At my current pace, it may take till I retire in 13 years to finish my project. _________________ .
