Earlier this year with help from you guys here i managed to remove the engine and tranny. Im at the final reinstall details now.... but as I search tech threads here and the www Im having an issue understanding what to do with a couple of hoses. a couple of questions..can you help?
Hose from the automatic transmission modulator valve ... Benley cant help as i have carb swap so what do i do with that hose now?
Vacuum advance on he distributor- I lost track of where that went at disassembly- where to direct that line?

All dual carbs are supposed to have a vacuum balance tube between them.
You can drill/tap the EMPI aluminum intake manifolds to add matching outlets.
Remember you want the balance tube pointed to the back of the engine, so you drill & tap the manifolds differently.
Steel dual Solex manifolds have matching outlets on them.
Put a tee in it for vacuum balance tube for a third outlet back to your automatic transmission modulator valve. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Guys- that so far over my head you have no idea!
I have to do this in a non technical/ very simple way- I’m not able to drill and tap a manifold …. The car functioned well enough previously these 2 tubes went “somewhere”.
Im thinking the one at the distributor went to a (male) port inlet at the bottom of the left carb- I’m thinking the one from tranny went to a similar port on the right carb.
On the balance of probabilities- do you think this was the previous set up? |
