We need to replace both radiator fans on our 2003 Eurovan GLS and I am wondering if after market parts are reliable or we should hold out for parts from an existing vehicle? I was told by a mechanic that after market parts break too easily, but we have not been able to find the real parts.

It'll be a real mixed bag. Some aftermarket stuff is just fine, as good or better than the factory stuff. In fact, most of it is the SAME STUFF, just marketed outside the dealer supply chain. But not always. Look at brand names, and see if it's the original supplier.

You're sure it's not just the strip fuses? They can appear visually OK but still have invisible hairline cracks, so you have unscrew them to be sure. https://vweurovan.fandom.com/wiki/Radiator_fan_strip_fuses

I used these on my previous EV. They worked well. I find Europarts usually sells items they have had good experience with. I usually call them and ask about their history before I buy.
