This is actually on a 914 but I figured there are a lot more later Bugs out there and its the same system. Here's the deal, I have spent hours and hours trying to get my self cancelling to work. New switch, new ring, good used switch, good used ring even a different stock steering wheel. Tried greasing the mechanism. I can take a screwdriver and flick the little plastic tab and it works as it should. Putting the steering wheel on I can get it to click or maybe one side will work for a little while but it ends in failure. What am I missing?

There are four metal spacers under the wiper switch. Or am I missing something? _________________ DDC racing |

on a bug only two are used as shown in the pic, maybe Porsche is different? Try and loosen all 4 screws and try that, aftermarket switches tend to bind up if to tight _________________ Rick

Agree.
Loosen screws from tight to snug and try again.
In addition, ensure tab on rear of steering wheel is striking the CANCEL tab on switch properly.

How big is the gap between the bottom of the steering wheel and the switch and housing. |

I can measure the gap to the housing but how do I measure the gap to the switch? _________________ DDC racing |
