Hi all,
Just getting my 52 split deluxe finally back together. What is the colour for the dash pods? & are the knobs ivory white. Also what is the colour of hand brake & gear stick & steering column. Is the horn push the same colour as steering wheel or ivory white
Thanks for your help much appreciated
Dave

Deluxe pods are ivory, there is no code, you need to match the color from an original. The knobs are ivory plastic as is the horn button. Steering column tube, gear shift and hand brake lever are beige, originally L71 I think and close to RAL8025. Steering wheel is not the same color, it is slightly browner but color varies from different years so again you need match it.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your help. It all ties in with what I had, although I need a colour code for the steering wheel which was slightly browner than the L71 biege. My only problem is that the restoration guy got it done in ivory for some reason so need a paint code if any one else can help would be great
Thank you
Dave

For steering wheel the closest I found my Zwitter was a 1985 Lada color Dark Beige Code 509 I compared it to the underside of horn button. Good luck

According to my information, in Car of the Century > the dash panels or pods and dash knobs are 011 ivory-plastic (the same as L567 ivory)

Garwood goes on to say, the column housing, gear lever and brake lever are L71, beige on deluxe cars, (but different on Asure Blue cars)

I recall that the horn-push = 567 ivory and the light brown (or coffee-color, as I call it) steering wheel = L71 in most cars - are NOT the same colors - different on Asure Blue models, I was told.

All of the above info is from JT Garwood's volumes - I have been updating the incorrect info in my books, based on some feedback, from you guys - to make the volumes more correct - furthermore, the above info is for ch. no. 313830 to 397022, early 1952 with KDF-style dash

… here's a picture of my old 6/52 dash, using parts that fit, without concern for correct colors - lucky me - z

Dash pods were only made of ivory plastic for a short time in '49. After that they were all brown/black standard bakelite painted ivory on the front. Some were painted ivory on front and back but that appears to be more in the Barndoor Bus era.

And, as everyone knows, Rustoleum 'Almond' is a perfect match.

That´s just wrong.
Ivory "plastic" pods were used well into 1950.
At least june (have owned circa 30 type 1s from 1950)
Have seen them on cars made as late as september 1950.

And pods painted on rear are usually a first sign of repaint.

split window interior colours and their modern equivalent seems such a regular query, couldn't there be a sticky for it?

There's a pod color thread in the Stickys

If there are other thread(s) that should be added, PM some link(s) please
