axle assembly

Are Syncro and 2WD axle assemblies the same? I see some sites list syncro only, others list 2WD. I thought they were the same. I am not talking about front syncro axles. Thanks

For true Vanagons, manual tranny rear axles came in :

84-91 2wd and Syncro same axles

80-82 had slightly longer axles

83 a mix of the above depending on engine/tranny model.
